The apprenticeship that built a CEO

Discover how Ioda helped develop the strategic leadership capability behind Abbie Jaye Wilson’s progression to CEO at Pic PR.

The story

After ten years with Pic PR, Abbie Jaye Wilson recently stepped into the role of CEO, marking a major milestone in both her personal and professional journey.

To support her transition from operational management into executive leadership, Abbie completed Ioda’s Senior Leadership Master’s apprenticeship programme.

The course helped Abbie build the strategic capability and confidence needed to lead the business into its next phase of growth.

The solution

Through the Senior Leadership Master’s programme, Ioda supported Abbie in developing the strategic leadership capability needed to move from operational management into executive leadership.

The programme provided the structure, leadership frameworks and insight needed to lead and transform organisational change with confidence, while applying learning directly within the agency.

This supported the implementation of key cultural and organisational improvements that contributed to Pic PR achieving a Great Place to Work accreditation, alongside Abbie being recognised as the PRCA’s Outstanding Professional in Workplace Wellbeing.

CEO, Pic PR

“Having been with the business for ten years, recently stepping into the role of CEO at Pic PR is a proud moment that has been significantly shaped by my Senior Leadership Master’s with Ioda.

The apprenticeship provided the strategic scaffolding I needed to move from operational management to executive leadership, allowing me to implement the high-level changes that secured our Great Place to Work accreditation.

This past year has been a whirlwind of growth; achieving that accreditation alongside being named the PRCA’s Outstanding Professional in Workplace Wellbeing was the perfect precursor to taking the helm of the agency.

I am certain that the academic rigor and leadership frameworks provided by the course were the final pieces of the puzzle in achieving this promotion and ensuring our agency culture is truly world-class.”
