Stress Management
Background:
 
The high pressure environment of the 21st century has seen an acute rise in the incidents of stress in the workplace.  Whilst it is recognised that some aspects of 'positive stress' are beneficial and indeed necessary, it is often the management and the workplace environment which creates the negative impact.  Failure to manage these external stressors can result in increased negative stress for staff, leading to an unhealthy workplace environment.
 

Inappropriate levels of negative stress will affect an individual's health, concentration, motivation, relationship with colleagues and ultimately their performance.  Some outcomes can be prolonged sickness, grievances and unnecessary cost to the organisation.  Managing workloads, workplace environments and supporting staff needs are vital if we are to maintain a high performance and retain our quality staff.

Overview:

A participatory programme which focuses on the practicalities of stress identification and management.  It includes group exercises supported by formal tutor input on theory and practical strategies. 
Delegates are encouraged to analyse practical issues to further develop their personal awareness.
 
Aims:
  • To introduce the concept of effective stress management as a personal and management development requirement
  • To develop a greater awareness of stress as an issue and provide practical strategies for its effective identification and management
