Conflict Resolution
Background:

In any organisation, where individuals are required to work or communicate with each other then conflict will occur.  Conflict is not always negative as it can often create an environment for innovation, new ideas and change.  This type of conflict can be summarised as 'we can always disagree without being disagreeable'.  However, all too often, conflict can be negative, caused by miscommunication, stress, manipulation or personal agenda.  The skills and confidence to challenge the initial conflict or behaviour can bring significant benefits in reducing any further escalation.  If, however, actual conflict does arise, the skills and techniques to effectively resolve these issues are vital to a manager.  Effective managers encourage productive discussion and disagreement while challenging, managing and eradicating negative conflict.

Overview:

This participatory and pragmatic workshop involves delegates in the conflict management process from the outset.  Using delegate experiences as live case exercises, the day builds a clear picture and structure of how to challenge and manage conflict productively.  Throughout the workshop, participants are encouraged to share their particular challenges or problems which are then used a live vehicle to analyse, evaluate and practice resolution.  The interactive nature of this course ensures high levels of enthusiasm and activity throughout the day leading to increased self-confidence and motivation.

Aim:
  • To provide staff with the confidence to challenge and manage conflict in the workplace
Programme Duration:

This 1 day programme is prepared and presented in-house exclusively for your organisation at a time and location that suits you. This programme requires a minimum of 8 delegates.
