Managing Professional Behaviour and Dealing with Complaints
Background:

The increasing pressure within modern organisations has led to a rise in inappropriate behaviour, unresolved conflict and bullying. Add to this, the Equality Agenda and the reluctance of managers to challenge minority group staff with concerns over counter-allegations. The recent Morris report highlighted the increased likelihood of being formally disciplined if an employee was from a BME minority group and therefore the need for managers to be effectively trained.

The failure to deal with these issues can have a devastating and disproportionate impact on both the staff and organisation. This is one area where early prevention produces significant benefits rather than attempting an after the event cure.

Overview:

This three day course takes managers through the complexities of the modern day environment dealing with performance, conflict and complaints. The course is activity based and uses actual case exercises including videos enabling managers to understand and develop their skills in a step by step manner. The course culminates with the third day being a complex scenario involving role actors engaging in a complaint and seeking advice. The full range of supporting management and HR documentation is utilised including relevant policies and procedures.

Aim:
  • Increase your staffs' awareness of race issues giving them the knowledge and ability to deal with varying situations with confidence and ease
  • To equip attendees with the relevant knowledge and skills to comply with the legislative requirements under the Race Relations Amendment Act 2000 and your own Race Equality Scheme
Programme Duration:

This 3 day programme is prepared and presented in-house exclusively for your organisation at a time and location that suits you.

Programme Delegates:

All Supervisors and Managers.  This programme requires a minimum of 8 delegates.
