Equality & Diversity Consultancy
We offer a range of consultancy functions to a variety of clients. Included within this service are:

Project Management of major cultural change initiatives
Our Project Management function provides our clients with the support and guidance that ensures that even the most complex of organisations will be guided through major cultural change initiatives towards the achievement of their strategic goals.  We bring the experience of having project managed a major City Council through a nine month programme whereby over 9,000 staff received a range of Equality & Diversity training and a Fire and Rescue Service, who saw all 3500 staff undertake a variety of role-specific training courses taking a value based approach to ensure a pragmatic understanding of Equality & Diversity was embedded.
To ensure consistent appreciation of the Equality Agenda across the your organisation, we can provide 1-2-1 coaching of any level in addition to bespoke training from our wide selection of Equality & Diversity and Professional Skills courses.

Design of Equality Impact Assessment Frameworks and Toolkits
In addition to standard Equality Impact Assessment training, we will carry out EIAs on behalf of your organisation to provide a clear indication of the level of embedding of the Equality Agenda within your policies, procedures and strategies.  We highlight gaps in the provision you deliver and provide business improvement remedies which can be incorporated into your policies accordingly.
Our Equality Impact Assessment programmes are assessed by holding surgeries with the individuals who attend the training and who have undertaken actual EIAs, thus reviewing the outputs that had occurred in the workplace since the training was delivered.

Consultancy and Community Engagement
We provide an organisation with the understanding of where they sit in relation to the Equality Agenda and how they need to change to meet their own individual Equality Framework.  Our analysis will provide you with the gaps that exist in your current provision and an analysis of how these gaps can be bridged.  We make proposals that are effective, practical and achievable to ensure that you achieve the results you want in a cost-effective and timely way.

Coaching & Mentoring

What does coaching with involve?

It is a professional, confidential, safe and supportive relationship and process. We provide a personalised support structure that enables individuals to understand:
  • themselves
  • their situation
  • their impact on and relationships with others
in order to help them identify areas they wish to change and assist them in making changes.

ioda coaches are able to challenge and confront conventional thinking, inherited or outmoded perspectives by looking at the four key competencies for executives and managers:
  • self-awareness
  • self-management
  • emotional intelligence
  • relationship management
thus liberating them to achieve their full potential, improving performance and impacting directly on the organisation, colleagues, employees and clients. The basis for change is always self-awareness and confidence; developing this is at the root of ioda coaching.

Simply put, coaching looks at where the managers are now and where they want to be, providing support to overcome limiting beliefs and assumptions that have prevented them from making changes before.  It helps them excel and achieve the kind of management performance and work life balance they want.

Why Coaching?

Firstly, we understand your organisation and your issues.  Secondly, the door to change can often best be unlocked by someone outside the organisation, someone objective.

Faced with constantly changing goals, values, staff, environments and ever increasing pressure, your executives and managers are under more and more stress. They can suffer among other things from:
  • isolation
  • a lack of real, genuine feedback
  • overwhelmed by the sheer number of demands and decisions
  • conflicting values
  • fear and apprehension
  • uncertainty
All of these can result in inefficiency and poor team performance.  At an individual level, ill health, increased sickness absence, disenchantment, paralysis and burn out can all be warning signs.

coaching can help executives and managers to:
  • overcome their fears
  • build on their strengths
  • stretch themselves
  • rediscover their confidence and courage
  • rekindle their passion, their enthusiasm and their aspirations
  • develop their self-awareness
  • reconnect with their integrity
  • build better/healthier relationships
  • impact positively on their work and wider life balance
coaching can help your managers and executives to find and unfurl their wings, ignite their passion and achieve the things that will satisfy them, brighten their world and bring renewed energy into the workplace. ioda coaching can help people to shine personally and professionally. The bottom line is that ioda coaching helps people to be more effective both professionally and personally. If you think your executives and managers would benefit from some ioda coaching, please contact us to discuss what we can help you achieve.
Training Evaluation
Background

Often when training is introduced and undertaken throughout the organisation, clearly identified outcomes are agreed.  These outcomes are both short and long-term.  The short-term impact would be evaluated in relation to the effectiveness of each training event, the transference of necessary knowledge and development of key skills.
The long-term impact requires analysis and evaluation of the transference of classroom learning into the workplace and its impact on departmental or organisational goals.  All too often, the most effective training and highly motivated delegate can return to the workplace culture which blocks their progress and drains their enthusiasm.  The training evaluation process identifies both areas of strength and areas of development with recommendations to support successes and remove blockages.

Overview

A specialist lead evaluator with a support researcher starts the process by interviewing the sponsor and key stakeholders to establish expected outcomes, logistical parameters and 'what success should look like'.  From these semi-structured interviews, a series of focus groups are undertaken and individual questionnaires distributed.  Classroom based observations and analysis also take place.

The data is analysed, utilising both qualitative and quantitative information to produce a formal report containing:

  • Areas of strength
  • Areas for development
  • Recommendations
  • Strategic considerations

Aims

  • To provide recommendations and issues for consideration for further improvement
  • To provide the organisation with a robust and reliable report, detailing the impact of training programmes in supporting the organisations goals
Output

The formal report would contain the following information for use by your organisation:
  • Evidence of relevance of training content to operational need
  • Review of informal culture and practices
  • Areas of good practice and implementations
  • Areas of blockage and resistance
  • Key recommendations and strategic considerations
